Join us for our spring and summer day camps
Discover nature and the mysteries of the food we eat with forest adventures, planting, crafts, popsicle making, and (of course) a chance to harvest, cook and eat fresh garden produce!
Plant, cook, and explore the start of the season. Watch the garden and forest come alive as spring arrives on the Farm. Start seedlings to bring home and enjoy in your own garden or balcony!

The theme of each of our one-week camps will guide our exciting recreational activities, crafts and hands-on experiences.
For children ages 6 to 11
The fee for our summer camp is $265 for the full week, with the exception of 4-day camps which are $208.
- Week 1: June 24-28 (VSB schools still in session)
- Week 2: July 2-5 *4-day camp
Come join us as we explore the Farm, forest, and Children’s learning garden! Engage your senses: tasting from the garden, listening for farm friends, and watching for pollinators. Use a compass on a journey, a trowel in the garden, and your imagination as we share stories. Plant and cook-up an exciting week as the Farm begins to come alive!
- Week 3: July 8-12
- Week 6: July 29 – August 2
Visit the fields on our farm to see what’s growing. Dig deep into the soils that grow food in the Children’s Garden. If a farmer takes care of their fields, their fields will take care of them. Learn about the difference between organic and non-organic farming. Observe stages in the life cycle of plants and how forests and farms work together to create a healthy ecosystem.
- Week 4: July 15-19
- Week 7: August 6-9 *4-day camp
Give the trees a chance to amaze you with their abilities. Investigate our eco-forest, build a tree fort, make forest costumes and find out how the forest helps us breathe! Learn about wildcrafting through harvesting wild berries and identifying a few of the medicines in our forest plants. We are on the Pacific Flyway for birds, so we will keep our eyes on the skies to see if there are any feathery residents.
- Week 5: July 22-26
- Week 8: August 12-16
Chickens, bees and what’s under our knees. Worms, birds, insects and frogs are all friends of the farm. See how they work together in the farm community to grow and protect the plants you eat. Learn how to catch, identify and release some of these tiny neighbours. We’ll do lots of exploring of the smaller worlds that are so close up for kids.
- Week 9: August 19-23
- Week 10: August 26-30
If you are looking to savour the last few weeks of summer come out to one of these FarmTastic Weeks! What Farm fun could we be having? Planting, building, and learning creative ways to preserve our harvest for the coming months are just a few of the activities we have planned. What better way to end the summer than exploring our amazing Children’s garden and the wide-open spaces of the UBC Farm.
This camp provides the opportunity to learn and grow as emerging leaders. Youth will learn about the farm, fields and forests alongside fun leadership training games. Youth will also take on more responsibilities to support younger children at camp.
For children ages 12 to 14
The fee for our summer camp is $265 for the full week.
- Session One: July 8-12
- Session Two: July 29 - August 2
Come work with kids and share your passions for the environment, science, outdoors and food in our dynamic Children’s Learning Garden!
Volunteers are accepted for FarmWonders Day Camps over spring break and the summer. Volunteers are key to making our camps a fun and safe environment for children.
Acknowledgement of Risk
Prior to participating in a camp or tour at the UBC Farm, you will be required to sign/accept a UBC Acknowledgement of Risk document. This is a necessary step in registering on-line. If you are registering through another method, we will provide you with this form by e-mail or in person.
The FarmWonders Summer Camp age policy requires the child to be 6 by the time camp starts for on-line registration. This ensures that our campers are accustomed to being in classes with large groups of children. We believe this policy helps to ensure your child has a successful and enjoyable time at camp.
Our FarmWonders Spring Break Camp is open to children in grades 1 through 4.
If your child is 12 to 14, please stay tuned for our one-week FarmWonders Leadership Camp in the summer!
Two Weeks Per Summer Maximum
Our camp is designed to reach a large number of campers each summer and our most popular content is repeated within the season. For these reasons, your child will move up wait-lists on a first-come, first-served basis, only until they have a secured spot in two camps. Campers who secure spots in more than two camps upon registration may be contacted and refunded for the additional camps.
For the safety of our campers, we ask that children do not pack nuts in their lunches or snacks.
If your child is allergic to nuts, please be aware that our farm facility is not nut-free. Check in with our staff at drop-off and inform them of how we can best support the health of your child.
Camp Cancellation Policy
FarmWonders and the UBC Farm reserve the right to cancel a camp week by 3:00 PM one week prior to the start date. In such cases, all fees for a cancelled program will be refunded, or participants will be given the option of joining another camp week if there is a spot available.
Camp Refund Policy
All requests for camp refunds must be made in writing. Cancellations received a minimum of TWO WEEKS (14 days) before the first day of the session will be refunded by credit, less a $30 administrative fee. Pro-rating and refunds are NOT available for days absent, or for any other reasons, including injuries or illness. Cancellations received 0-13 days before the first day of the session will not be eligible for any refund or credit. This includes for reasons such as illness or injury.
Wait-list Fee Policy
Wait-list fees go toward managing our wait-lists and we do not profit from them. Therefore, we do not refund wait-list fees.
If you make it through the wait-list and are registered into the corresponding camp, we will apply the $10 fee toward your outstanding camp tuition.
