Every Christmas Tree at our farm is breathing fresh air and living a happy life. Note: Please make payment in cash upon pick up.

Potted Trees

For clients who value having a live tree, the UBC Christmas Tree Farm offers a selection of live potted Christmas trees that can go directly into your garden after Christmas. Alternatively, you are welcome to bring your live tree back to the UBC Farm during the first two weeks of January. Being inside is stressful for potted trees, so not every tree will survive, but many do. As a student run and sustainable business, we have a limited number of live potted trees for sale each year, and trees are sold on a “first come, first serve” basis. Potted trees available include Amabilis fir, Subalpine fir, White fir, ranging from 1-3 feet tall.

  • 2017 Pricing for live-potted trees is  $15/foot

U-Cut Trees

Wander around our Christmas Tree Farm to select your favourite tree. We will provide saws and instruction for you to harvest your tree of choice. Bring your family and friends and have a unique Christmas Tree Experience at the UBC farm! Freshly cut boughs will be sold by donation. Species available for u-cut include Grand fir, Noble fir, Nordmann fir, and Douglas-fir, ranging from 4 to 8 feet tall. As a sustainable and student-run business, we have to limit the number of trees that we sell each year, and trees are sold on a “first come, first serve” basis. Please come prepared to secure the tree to your vehicle.

  • 2017 Pricing:  U-Cut trees are $12/foot

Established by the Forestry Undergraduate Society (FUS) in 2006, the Christmas Tree Farm has live-potted as well as field-planted trees from over a dozen species. This Christmas season is our third year selling Christmas Trees to customers from UBC and surrounding communities. The trees planted in the farm were donated by Pelton Reforestation, Cairnpark Nursery, and Pacific Regeneration Technologies.

Revenue generated from the sale of trees this year supports the Forestry Undergraduate Society and a portion of proceeds from every sale will be donated to the UBC Farm and to an international charity that benefits communities, forests and the environment. For our 2017 season, we will be donating to Forests Without Borders and the FUS Ring Ceremony Fundraising.
