Pies, Produce and Pumpkins!

If cozying up to a hot drink while picking out the perfect pumpkin sounds like a great way to spend a Saturday then this is the event for you! The UBC Farm Fall Fair is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the harvest with our community of local vendors and get in the autumn spirit.

Join us for a fun-filled day:

  • Live music
  • Food trucks
  • U-pick pumpkins for eating or carving
  • Pie tasting competition with judges Dean Rickey Yada of the Faculty of Land and Food Systems, Head Doughgirl Courtney Stainthorp of Doughgirls Comfort Kitchen & Bakeshop, and UBC Sprouts president Sarah Siska
  • Learn how to get involved in growing, cooking and eating local food on campus with info booths from groups like Roots on the Roof and UBC Sprouts
  • Hands-on activities and crafts for kids
  • More than 20 different vendors selling produce, fruit, crafts, ice cream, baked goods, hot food, beverages, and more
  • Weirdest vegetable contest
    • Did you grow carrots with three legs in your backyard? Did the tomato plant on your balcony give you a tomato with a nose? Did you find a beet with angry eyes in your community garden plot? Bring your weirdest and ugliest out to the Fall Fair Market on September 15th! We’ll be showcasing the stranger side of vegetable growing and the audience favourite will win a market gift certificate prize.
