About the Yurt and the Centre for Sustainable Food Systems at UBC Farm:

We built a yurt at the farm. Usually it is booked up with classes and workshops, such as Landed Learning’s sessions with our indigenous elders. This may be your only chance to see it converted into a trivia battlezone. We also do a lot of research, farming, learning, and teaching here on the land. Read more here.

About the Intergenerational Landed Learning Project:

The ILLP is an award-winning teaching, learning, and research initiative that unites collaborative teams of elders, younger adults, and school children in learning with and caring for the Earth. Participants grow, tend, cook, and share food at UBC Farm and explore the connections among human and non-human communities, places, and local environments.

Situated on the traditional, ancestral, unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) People, the ILLP strives to follow Musqueam protocol, learn from Indigenous ways of knowing, and carry on traditional practices of caring for the Musqueam lands.
