With a goal of engaging the local community in creating a socially just and ecologically sound food system, the UBC Farm partners with a variety of UBC dining outlets and Vancouver restaurants.
Given the unique opportunity to offer campus-grown food to the UBC community, the farm is pleased to work with campus dining outlets such as Sage Bistro, Sprouts, Agora Cafe, Pie R Squared, Bernoulli’s Bagels, The Pendulum, Wescadia, and Place Vanier. The farm’s produce is also featured at The Loop Café in UBC’s Centre for Interactive Research on Sustainability, which aims to be energy neutral.

Community outreach and education are important aspects of UBC Farm campus partnerships. To this end, the farm participates in educational events such as UBC Food Services’ Meet Your Maker (formerly Meet Your Farmer), which was first developed as part of a Land and Food Systems capstone course. Community-based research led by students underlies many of the business relationships established between the UBC Farm and campus food outlets. The farm is also committed to fostering ongoing relationships with student-run food initiatives, such as Sprouts, Agora Cafe, the LFS Undergraduate Society Wednesday Night BBQ, and the LFS Fall Harvest Community Dinner.
Vancouver restaurants that currently feature seasonal UBC Farm produce are considered among the most progressive and creative kitchens in the city, including Vij’s Restaurant, Refuel Restaurant, CRU and Pair Bistro. The farm’s newest partnership is with La Quercia, Vancouver Magazine’s 2011 Restaurant of the Year. Visiting these establishments – and asking for UBC Farm produce – is a great way to support the UBC Farm. UBC Farm produce is also available for sale at Greens Organic + Natural Market, and it is featured on the menu of Tapestry retirement community at Wesbrook Village.
