About this Workshop

Painting and exploring Landscape at UBC Farm. This course will allow students to experiment with different painting techniques through the mosaic of landscapes found at the UBC Farm. These diverse and stimulating environments will provide the backdrop to painting instruction and work sessions which will help you develop techniques to improve your painting skills, your knowledge of and empathy for the natural environment and just to get you out and enjoy nature. No previous painting experience required.

About the Instructor

Karen Yurkovich is an artist whose practice is centered on Nature and it’s cultural significance. Her specific interests include biodiversity. She teaches at ECUAD and La Salle College in Vancouver and was Director and professor of the MFA studio art program at SACI, Florence, Italy from 2013-2016.
