Future of Food Dialogues: Panel and Event Series
Since 2020, the CSFS has presented an annual webinar series, bringing together international speakers and audience members.
2023 Speaker Series:
Food at the Tipping Point: Ways Forward from a Food System in Crisis
We are proud to present the third installment of the Future of Food Dialogue series: “Food at the Tipping Point: Ways Forward from a Food System in Crisis”. From past themes of resiliency, to innovation and now to action, this year’s 10-part series focuses on the urgency to act on a food system in crisis. The series will tackle issues brought on by the breakdown of our climate system which is creating dramatic rippling effects across all natural and built systems. With extinction-level losses of biodiversity, more frequent and severe extreme weather events impacting all stages of the food system, rising food insecurity and growing political tensions, a widespread and dramatic change is urgently needed.
In adapting to the changing viewer landscape, this year’s series will feature both virtual and in-person dialogues, including panel discussions, intimate conversations and new, “quick bite” videos designed for social media. Join us every other Thursday where we bring together community leaders, researchers and on-the-ground experts for inspiration and real solutions.
This series has been generously sponsored by RBC Royal Bank, in partnership with the BC Food Web and the Faculty of Land and Food Systems.

We’ll be exploring the most pressing issues our food systems face today, everything from how restaurants have had to change and adapt during the pandemic, the biodiversity crisis, food school programs as an avenue to address food insecurity, and so much more! Join us for discussions on what steps we need to take to transform our food systems – from farm to globe.
