Become a Friend of the Farm
Are you a farmers’ market enthusiast? Know someone moving to UBC? Become a Friend of the Farm! Membership with the Centre for Sustainable Food Systems at UBC Farm brings you into our friend circle, supporting our work as we model and move the dial on food systems sustainability.
Becoming a Friend of the Farm supports our educational programming, food cultivation and research projects from field to fork. This work impacts people from students and researchers, children and youth, farmers and food processors, policy-makers and non-profits, as well as our neighbours and community members.
Through this membership program, we honour the legacy of the original Friends of the Farm, a group of dedicated students, faculty and community members who were instrumental in saving the Farm over a decade ago, ensuring our future in learning and practice in sustainable food systems.
How it works
Your UBC Farm membership entitles you to perks at our markets, priority access to events such as tastings at the specials markets, pie tasting at the Fall Fair, Long Table Dinner invitations, member-exclusive u-pick, and it also brings our community of supporters together for fun member events such as member veggie tasting hour.
Memberships are valid for 12 months from the purchase date. UBC Students with valid ID receive a 10% discount on Farm Gate membership.

Memberships can only be purchased online at our UBC Farm e-store. You will receive a digital card that can be used at our markets for member deals and for redeeming perks.

$25 Annual Level*

Orchard Membership
$50 Annual Level
Includes all the perks of Farm Gate membership:
- Monthly Member Deals Day at the UBC Farm Farmer’s Market
- Member hour tastings of seasonal veggies at select markets
- First invitation to tasting events, e.g. pie tasting at the Fall Fair, squash tasting at the Haunted Harvest Market
- Member strawberry and blueberry u-pick days

- Automatic entry into bi-monthly prize draw at the UBC Farm Saturday Farmers’ Market

UBC Farm receives $2M from founders of Nature’s Path Foods
The donation from Arran and Ratana Stephens, co-founders of North America’s largest organic breakfast and snack foods company, is a personal gift to the Centre for Sustainable Food Systems at UBC Farm. The gift will help fund capital infrastructure essential for agriculture research and operations as we expand our programs and supported our transition to become a certified organic farm.
