About this Workshop

Drawing in Nature at UBC Farm. This experimental course will integrate different drawing techniques to explore the diverse environments found at UBC Farm. From drawing individual plants, to approaching landscapes, to conceptual drawings relating the plants to their uses, this course will allow you to develop better drawing and memory retention techniques and to learn more about our natural surroundings. No previous drawing experience required.

About the Instructor

Karen Yurkovich is an artist whose practice is centered on Nature and it’s cultural significance. Her specific interests include biodiversity. She teaches at ECUAD and La Salle College in Vancouver and was Director and professor of the MFA studio art program at SACI, Florence, Italy from 2013-2016.
