UBC Alumni Homecoming – UBC Farm Tours

UBC Homecoming at the 20th Annual UBC Farm Farmers’ Market

Saturday September 18th, 2021:

Two tours: 10:30-11:30AM & 12:00-1:00PM

It was 20 years ago this year that UBC students first started growing and selling their own fresh produce at the newly dubbed UBC Farm. The UBC Farm has grown and thrived since then becoming a key part of UBC’s agroecology research and education, and is a place of experiential learning for students, researchers, and the neighbouring community. The UBC Farm acts as a Living Laboratory, modelling sustainable, small-scale, diversified farming practices and features organically cultivated annual crop fields, honey beehives, perennial hedgerows and orchards, pasture-raised hens, Indigenous-led gardens, and conservation forest stands. Discover the UBC Farm through your taste-buds! The UBC Farm Farmers’ Market is on with food trucks, treats, crafts, local vendors, live music, and – of course – certified organic UBC Farm veggies, fruits, herbs, flowers and eggs. 10:00 am – 2:00pm on Saturdays until the end of November.

Need more fresh UBC Farm produce? Don’t miss our Tuesday Evening Markets, from 4pm – 6pm, a smaller affair where we sell only our organically certified UBC Farm produce – just in time for dinner.
