New Farmer Training
Agriculture is changing rapidly. And so is the way we train emerging farmers.
A team of researchers, agriculture educators, and farmers is working together to assess, modernize, and expand how we train and support new farmers. The ultimate deliverables of this effort will include new farmer training curricula, region-specific farming tools developed by collaborating educational institutions, and a novel farmer online outreach strategy. This will ensure farmers are equipped with the tools and knowledge to catalyze the impact of regenerative, organic, sustainable, small-scale and agroecological agriculture.
This project is funded by Vancity, and activated with the support of the Centre for Sustainable Food Systems at the UBC Farm and Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) Institute for Sustainable Food Systems.
We are seeking input from farmers and educators in the field, please sign up for our mailing list to get in touch with us and to keep up-to-date as the project develops.
